Sweded Films
Sweded films are remakes of classic
films on a low budget and an ordinary video camera. The term ‘Sweded’ comes
from the Michal Gondry film ‘Be Kind Rewind’ which is about the character jerry
wiping the tapes at a video store. Jerry and his friend then have to remake all
of the films so that they don’t get into trouble. They become increasingly
popular with customers, the customers are told that the films come from Sweden.
Hence the term ‘Sweded Films’.
Be Kind Rewind created a sweded
film craze and people all over the world have started to make their own.
